FAQ

Q: I’ve had bids before, and I get prices that are high, low and all over the place. Why?

A:The cost of the job is usually determined by the level of thoroughness, attention to detail, and quality desired. Here are several factors that have an impact on the bid price: It takes more time to properly prepare a surface for painting than it does to give it the “quick once over.” The extra care and effort to protect your furnishings, and landscaping also takes more time. Time is money in man hours. And there’s an investment to professionally train painters and provide them with the highest quality paints, tools and supplies to give you the best results. We would be happy to review – in detail – our calculations for your project so you can make a fair comparison with other bids.

Q:Our last painter would work for a few days, and then be gone for a few. Always starting and stopping. Will you stay on the job once you begin?

A:Yes, we will. Many companies struggle with this scheduling problem. However, Swift Painting has multiple crew members, and a specific team is dedicated to one job at a time. You will have the same team on your job from start to finish.

Q:Who does the painting and who will supervise the job?

A:We use only Swift Painting trained employees, not sub-contractors. Swift Painting uses the “Lead Painter” system. Each of our Lead Painters manages a set crew of 2-3 painters. The continuity this system offers has many advantages. For example, they are more productive and efficient as a team because they are paired to complement each other’s styles and skills. We have a staff size of approximately 18 painters, with each member averaging 6 years with Swift Painting. Our most tenured painter has been with the company 30 years. Swift Painting is proud to be a Ohio Drug-Free Business. Our reputation is extremely important to us; which is why we have a thorough new hire screening process, including a detailed background check.

Q:Do you have references?

A:Yes, please visit our image page to see some of the jobs we have done and check out the bottom of the website for customer comments.

Q:What kind of paint do you use?

A:We use Benjamin Moore, Pratt and Lambert, Devine and Sherwin Williams paints about 90% of the time. However, the brand of paint we use is influenced by additional factors including customer preference, the nature of the project, and other bid specifications. Whichever brand of paint is selected, we use the highest grades because the best paint provides the best results. We also use top quality materials, tools and supplies from companies like: 3M (tape and masking supplies); Wooster (brushes); Daly’s (wood finishing stains); and Bio-Wash® (deck products).

Q:Are your painters bonded?

A:Swift Painting Co., is a registered contractor in the State of Ohio. We are bonded in accordance with Ohio State contractor requirements. Our insurance includes general business coverage, with General Liability and Worker’s Compensation policies. Don’t expose yourself to the many risks of hiring a non-registered contractor.

Q:Can you help with other things besides painting, like wall and ceiling repair, wallpaper or carpentry?

A:Yes. We have the in-house capability to complete carpentry repairs, wall paper removal, and drywall and plaster repairs. Please visit our services page to see a complete list of the services we provide.

Q:What’s the difference between a good paint job, and a bad one?

A:A good paint job requires an organized approach that includes the necessary preparation, the correct painting technique, and the appropriate tools and materials. However, all of the skill in the world is useless without adequate time to complete the project. We will honestly advise you about the amount of time needed to properly complete your job. A bad job is often a result of being underbid, rushed, and performed by inexperienced and untrained crews.

Q:Do you warranty your exterior paint jobs?

A:Absolutely, we offer a three-year labor and material warranty on most exterior work.
